Accurate lab tests for newborns and children, in one place

About Our Laboratory Service

Many childhood illnesses are not obvious from the outside. Fever, jaundice, poor feeding or unusual sleepiness can all have different causes, and laboratory tests are often the most reliable way to find them. Our laboratory runs tests with each baby’s or child’s age and condition in mind, so your doctor can make decisions quickly and with confidence.

Tests We Offer

  • Blood tests: Complete blood count (CBC), blood bilirubin, blood sugar, CRP
  • Infection tests: Blood culture and other tests to identify infection
  • Urine tests: Urinary tract infection screening and basic kidney assessment
  • Stool tests: Detection of gut infection, blood and worms
  • Electrolytes: Sodium and potassium, useful in dehydration and diarrhoea
  • Hormone tests: Thyroid (TSH) and other tests as needed

    Sample Collection

Our staff collect samples from newborns and children with care and patience. Sample collection is done as calmly as possible for the child. If a test requires fasting, we will tell you in advance.

    Why Choose Our Laboratory

    • Supervised by paediatric and neonatal specialists: Results are easier for your doctor to interpret in the context of your child’s care.
    • Care designed for newborns and children: Methods are adapted to the child’s age and condition.
    • Support for emergency care
    • Testing and treatment in one place: From test to treatment, all in the same hospital.

    When to Get Tests Done

    • Fever in a child under 3 months
    • Jaundice that spreads to the face, chest or legs
    • Repeated vomiting or loose stools
    • Refusal to feed or unusual sleepiness
    • Poor weight gain or weight loss

If you notice these signs, speak to a doctor. In an emergency, take your child to the hospital’s emergency department without delay.
